Trapped corpses

A place of victory for ..
Whose fighters walked amid the destruction yesterday with the air of conquering heroes

Provoked this war 

Passed us amid the piles of broken concrete

The opportunity of dying/ surviving

amid this terrifying destruction

.. once vowed to expel them

The war and its enormous political significance to the Middle East

The ‘mighty’ army has already retreated from the neighbouring village of .. after losing 40 men injust over 36 hours of fighting

It has not even managed to penetrate the smashed town of ..

On the other side of the frontier

This is not the way the war was supposed to have ended for..

Left untouched

.. reputation lionised across the ..world

Scarcely any ..armour was to be seen inside …

Just one solitary tank could be glimsed outside…

The ceasefire went into effect

A massive exodus of tens of thousands of families bedding piles on the roofs on their cars sproting flags and pictures on their windscreens

Official notices urging parents not to allow children to play with the thousands of unexploded bombs that now lie across the landscape

His entire house has been flattened

Much-damaged house facing the rubble

Shelter in caves and basements and tunnels only to emerge to fire their missiles or to use rockets on …once it made the mistake of sending troops .. on the ground

A symbolic moment when .. based in .. joined .. to clear the rubble of a house
